Las Vegas Health Insurance Company Teams With Nonprofit to Hold Safety Workshop

​Las Vegas-based health insurance company, Nevada Benefits and military nonprofit American Dream U, came together to host a safety workshop to educate Las Vegas residents.

Nevada Benefits and American Dream U came together to offer a safety workshop called “Stay Safe: Personal Safety Workshop” to educate local residents on basic safety skills and crisis preparation in the wake of the Route 91 Country Music Festival tragedy.

The workshop was held at the Heinrich YMCA and the event was offered for free, although donations were accepted and suggested. All proceeds from the safety workshop went to support the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund and Nevada Benefits generously matched donations up to the first $5,000.

The workshop was co-led by a SWAT operator, a retired special operations combat veteran, and a retired LVMPD officer. The objectives of the workshop were to teach citizens basic safety skills, crisis preparation skills, as well as threat awareness and assessment.

Phil Randazzo, founder of both Nevada Benefits Corporation and American Dream U, had this to say about the workshop; “Due to the horrific events of October 1st that took the lives of 58 people and injured almost 500, it is extremely important for everyone to have the tools and awareness to protect themselves and others in a crisis or disaster situation. The goal of this workshop is to provide essential safety skills and build the confidence of individuals to feel more prepared in worst-case scenarios.”

Through this workshop, Nevada Benefits and American Dream U were able to provide local Las Vegas residents with skills needed if they should find themselves in a crisis situation and, most importantly, raised $3,775.00 for the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund.
